This striking party plate was designed by Pop Art icon Roy Lichtenstein for the New York City store, On First. Located on First Avenue, the store was the brainchild of noted fashion and advertising photographer Bert Stern, who opened it with the idea that they would sell objects for the home designed by artists, fashion designers, etc. However, the store closed very shortly after this item was commissioned, and most of these plates were neither distributed, nor seen again.
