Modernist Icon is a young collection. Works on paper: Multiples and limited edition prints in the form of woodcuts, serigraphs (screen prints), lithographs and paintings on paper are an excellent way to start a collection.
Starting a collection with these more easily to access formats is an excellent way to live with the work of an artist before pulling the trigger on a much more expensive and unique piece.
Ilya Bolotowsky, Pierre Clerk and Alexander Calder rule the roost, but the collection contains some very rare and interesting works on paper like a serigraph from the estate of Piet Mondrian and a rare Fredrich Vordemberge-Gilderwart work from important European-produced portfolios and print houses.
